Happy November everyone.
I’m Justice from our Minami Nagareyama.
I hope you’re all having a nice fall. It’s the month after Halloween but
before Christmas so it feels like nothing is happening, but in America
we have another holiday in November called Thanksgiving.
Thanksgiving for the United States is always the 4th Thursday in
November, and we gather with our friends and family for a big meal. It
is traditionally used to celebrate the harvest which is why we eat so
much. The food can be a little different depending on where you live,
and your family’s culture, but usually families will eat lots of
vegetables, cranberry sauce, potatoes, pumpkin pie, and most
importantly, turkey.
Most kids in our classes at HANDZ have never seen a turkey or eaten
turkey so it is always interesting to see their reactions when we talk
about Thanksgiving or read stories about turkeys, and I love teaching
them about a holiday I grew up celebrating.
皆さん、素敵な秋をお過ごしですか?
